Nagarjuna’s Om Namo Venkatesaya Leaves Makers With 25 Crores Loss

First the news of of Akhil and Shriya’s engagement being called off and now the failure of his latest released movie Om Namo Venkatesaya, this is keeping the star upset these days. The movie, which released on February 10, didn’t fare well at the box office.
The movie also caused losses to the producers and distributors. Gossip mills are churning out rumours that the film was sold for 36 crores. However, the makers are unable to get back a quarter of the money to the buyers. Reportedly, only 8 crores returned and that leaves huge gap of close to 27 crores loss to the distributors.
The movie is a devotional & biographical film, based on the life of Hathiram Baba. The Siva actor played the central character of Hathiram Baba in the flick. Helmed by K. Raghavendra Rao, the movie was bankrolled by Mahesh Reddy. Om Namo Venkatesaya stars Anushka, Pragya Jaiswal and Vimala Raman in pivotal roles. Music in the film was by Keeravani.
