Pooja Kumar Roped In To Play Lakshmi Parvathi

Director Kethireddy Jagadeeswar is brining the story of Lakshmi Parvathi, wife of legendary actor NTR, on screens. Titled Lakshmi’s Veera Grandham, the story of the flick will revolve around how Lakshmi met NTR and married him. Actress Pooja Kumar has been roped in to play the role of Lakshmi.

The director has said that he plans to rope in Mahesh Manjrekar to essay the role of NTR. The team recently visited Nimmakuru, the birth place of NTR, to shoot few portions at NTR’s house and the village. However, they could not shoot as the locals did not allow them. “We got permission to shoot there, but the locals assumed that we are making a film against NTR, in favour of Lakshmi. We immediately stopped shoot,” said Kethireddy.

The director added that when one of the seniors from the village came to know about the truth, the villagers welcomed them. “They thought we were the unit of RGV’s film, so they stopped us,” explains the director. The film will show how Lakshmi trapped NTR into her web, though she had already been married to Veeragandham Subba Rao for 17 years. “We went to Lakshmi’s native village and researched about her and her husband, Veeragandham Subba Rao. Although she was with the late NTR for nearly three years, she was married to Subba Rao for nearly 17 years,” said Kethireddy. The flick will go on floors on December 1, 2017.
