Telugu Film Producers Council Prevents Dubbed Movies To Release On Festival Weekends
Updated : December 01, 2017 03:57 PM ISTRecently, it seems that the Tollywood audience has a large appetite of watching movies. Many Tamil and Malayalam movies have been releasing in Telugu dubbed format. Some of these movies are Detective, Gruham and Khakee . Such movies are raking in huge revenues from the Telugu audience.
It has been learnt that on an average around 75 movies are released in Telugu dubbed version every year. In order to provide space to Tollywood movies, the TFPC (Telugu Film Producers Council) has taken a step to solve this issue. Regarding this, a source was quoted as saying, “During festival season, producers and distributors have decided not to encourage the release of dubbed films as they want to give priority to Telugu films”.
The council has further mentioned that these movies can be released a week after the festival weekends, if the theatres get empty audience. There are many upcoming dubbed movies slated to release during the Sakranti festival next year. Now filmmakers won't be able to release their multilingual movies at the same time.
