Varun Tej To Replace Chiranjeevi In ‘Kaththi’ Remake?

‘Kaththi’ was a huge success in Kollywood. The Vijay starrer did a great business at the box office and was lauded by the audiences. The critics also acknowledged the A.R. Murugadoss directorial and it became the highest grossing Tamil film of 2014. The film is being remade in Telugu.

Few months back Ram Charan announced that he will be acquiring the Telugu rights of the Tamil blockbuster. Reports suggested that his father Chiranjeevi will be playing the lead role in the flick. Ram Charan said he would bankroll the venture and speculations were that V.V. Vinayak would be appointed to helm the 150^th film of the Mega actor.

Reportedly, after the performance of ‘Bruce Lee’ at the box office, Chiranjeevi is in no mood to work in the remake and has asked some writers to pen down a new story for his next. However, nothing has been confirmed. According to reports, Naga Babu has requested Vinayak to rope in his son Varun Tej for the movie. We will have to wait and see who stars in the Telugu version of ‘Kaththi’.
