Vijay Deverekonda Calls Savithri ‘A Cool Chick’

‘Arjun Reddy’ star  Vijay Deverekonda, who is shooting for his debut Tamil movie ‘Nota’, has made a controversy for calling actress Savithri as a ‘Cool Chick’ on his social media handle. Notably, Nag Ashwin directorial biopic of Savithri is titled ‘Mahanati’ in Telugu and ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’ in Tamil. Keerthi Suresh playing the titular role while Dulquer, Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda are in pivotal roles.

Deverekonda posted a picture of Savithri revealing the fact that she was fond of vintage cars, he wrote ‘what a cool chick’. The comment was not well received by her fans and he was asked to apologies the actress for calling her ‘chick’. Later he justified his comment and said, “I think she (Savithri) would have been super happy to be called in admiration "what a cool chick" compared to home wrecker and alcoholic. She was many things — fearless, philanthropic, generous. But, at her core, she was like anyone else — a girl with dreams first, a woman who loved & wanted to be loved next and a superstar last.”

Also, the actor asks people to write to him. He even told netizens to meet him at Chennai Leela Palace, where the audio launch of ‘Mahanati’ was happening, if they want an apology. Moreover, a few people came to support him by saying that saying he may have used the term ‘chick’ for other actress who is also acting in the film.
