Bollywood went full revenge mode on the last two year's somber Diwali and how! There were some back-to-back high-profile Diwali parties hosted by some eminent names from the industry. These occasions saw the creme-de-la-creme of showbiz come in full attendance. However, there were also some celebrities who gave these Diwali parties a miss, and their absence was duly felt.
Here is taking a look at them.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar was one of the A-list celebrities who was absent from the Diwali parties this year. We guess his hectic shooting schedule is to be blamed since the actor is known for doing several films in a year. But the silver lining is that his latest release, Ram Setu has opened to a wonderful response especially at the box office after a string of failures. Salman Khan
Unfortunately, Salman Khan was not in the best of his health this Diwali. The actor was diagnosed with dengue and thus couldn't step out of his house. He gave all the Diwali parties a miss including the one at his brother Sohail Khan's place. He also missed the Diwali special episode of his reality show, Bigg Boss 16. However, the actor might have recovered a bit since he was spotted attending his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma's birthday bash. Shah Rukh Khan
How we wish, Shah Rukh Khan could have made an appearance along with his wife Gauri Khan, and daughter Suhana Khan in some of the high-profile Diwali parties. His wife and daughter especially the latter was seen making heads turn at almost all of the Diwali parties sans him. We also missed the Diwali party at Mannat this year. We are assuming his hectic schedule might have something to do with this. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan was another celebrity who went missing from all the Diwali parties. Even though the actor doesn't attend too much of Bollywood parties but it would have been a happy sight to see him at some of these Diwali parties. Reportedly, Aamir has not taken the flopping of his ambitious film, Laal Singh Chaddha too well. We wonder whether this is the reason for his maintaining a low-profile. Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor was one of those celebs whose presence was also missed at some of these Diwali parties. But the actor had an intimate Diwali celebration and a Pooja at his home along with his mother Neetu Kapoor, wife Alia Bhatt, and mother-in-law Soni Razdan. The soon-to-be-dad presumably did not step out to be with his wife as she is in the third trimester of her pregnancy. Ranveer Singh
How we would have loved to see Ranveer Singh turn up at these Diwali parties with a unique look. But the actor was seen traveling to watch some international sports tournament. Well, Ranveer's charismatic appearance in these Diwali bashes would have been like a cherry on the cake. Alia Bhatt
There's no guessing why Alia Bhatt gave these Diwali parties a miss. The actress is currently in the last phase of her pregnancy and is thus taking some adequate rest before delivering her baby. She shared a quirky Diwali post though which brought a smile on our faces. Deepika Padukone
We missed Deepika Padukone too from our Diwali parties. The actress was presumably catering to her other professional commitments due to which she gave these occasions a miss. We would have loved to see her gorgeous traditional looks at these events.
