Jurassic World Dominion Movie Review - A bloated and confused send off to the Jurassic World trilogy

The final movie in the Jurassic World trilogy and the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise- Jurassic World Dominion is a boring movie and a pointlessly long one.
Colin Trevorrow returned to direct Dominion taking over the mantle from J. A. Bayona. You would think that he could make a movie about dinosaurs fun and interesting. After all, he did write all three movies but no, what we get is a preachy and lifeless movie that seems to be making up the plot as it goes.
Not even the dinosaur fights were that interesting or scary. During a chase scene through the city of Malta, Trevorrow decided to use jump cuts and shaky camera effects so half that time you can't tell who is chasing who.
The plot of the movie is- simple humanity is learning to deal with the existence of dinosaurs. Owen Grady and Claire Dearing must rescue their daughter who has been kidnapped by a company called Biosyn Genetics which is run by Dr. Lewis Dodgson played by Campbell Scott.
The main highlight of the movie is the return of the stars of the original trilogy Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, and it is nice seeing them together again but they are given very little to work with. The standout among the three is Jeff Goldblum who is just there to troll the movie, often calling out how dumb it is. It is pretty obvious that he improvised those scenes.
As for Chris Pratt , he's just there for the paycheck, watching him do his weird hand gesture to stop dinosaurs is still there and it is still as stupid and moronic as the first time.
Other than the main cast, most of the actors in this movie seem to have no clue of what or who their characters are giving mostly monotone performances. Of course, when it comes to awkward performances, Campbell Scott takes the crown.
Campell Scott's performance as Dr. Lewis Dodgson, the egoistic CEO of Biosyn Genetics, is just weird. Not that his character is weird, but it's his entire performance in the movie.
The actor seems, at times, to be doing a Steve Jobs impersonation but halfway through a line, he decided to turn into Dustan Hoffman from Rain Man. Every line he says he keeps switching, I don't know if the character was written like this or if it was the actor's choice but, either way, it did not help the movie.
The only time I felt any emotional investment in the movie was during its climax- not for the people but during the fight between the T-Rex and the Giganotosaurus, but then just as it gets interesting, the movie ends.
The good thing about Jurassic Dominion is the fact that it brings an end to this god-awful new trilogy and gives us at least a decade or hopefully longer before the studio tries to bring it back from the dead.
Jurassic World Dominion is currently running in theaters. Watch it only if you have never seen a movie before.
