House of the Dragon Episode 3 Review - The episode manages to capture the scope and intrigue of Game of Thrones

Set two years after the last episode, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen still struggles to find common ground with her father meanwhile Prince Daemon Targaryen had started a war with the Crabfeeder and his army.
The third episode takes place 2 years after the events of the second episode, King Viserys I and Lady Alicent Hightower have a son and a second child on the way, which leads to Rhaenyra wondering if her father will replace her with her younger brother as heir to the Iron Throne.
Meanwhile, Daemon has started a war with the Crabfeeder and his army against the wishes of the king and has made little headway against them.
Despite the time jump of two years the episode does not struggle to find its pacing, the episode while a slow burn still manages to set up future conflicts as well as establish new characters.
While some may not like the initial slow pace of the show, it feels very reminiscent of the first season of Game of Thrones, and viewers were rewarded for their patience in the later season.
Hopefully, The House of the Dragon can pull this off, as of now the show seems to be on the right track.
The highlights of the episode are the performances by Paddy Considine as King Viserys and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon, even in this episode despite them not sharing any screen time together seem to play two sides of the same coin.
Considine is the older and more patient brother who is tired of the throne and the politics behind it and Smith is the younger ambitious and callous brother who wants the throne.
Milly Alcock as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen also gives a solid performance, of course, the biggest highlight of the episode is the final battle between Dameon and his forces against The Crabfeeder and his army.
The battle has clearly taken inspiration from the Battle of the Bastards from Game of Thrones but added its own unique twist to it, it is a well-excuted battle and Fabian Wagner and Pepe Avila del Pino should be praised for their Cinematography.
The House of the dragon continues to be a solid addition to the Game of Thrones franchise and hopefully will continue to wash away the bad aftertaste left by the final season of GOT.
