The House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones is one of the most anticipated series of 2022. Recently, HBO dropped the official teaser trailer offering a closer look at a slew of characters from Ryan J Condal and Miguel Sapochnik’s series.
Based on Martin's book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon will focus on the history of House Targaryen, which chronicles the first 150 years of the white-haired family from the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen to Robert Baratheon's rebellion. The series will show betrayals, deaths, and the havoc wreaked by dragons much before all the drama in Game of Throne took place.

The makers shared the teaser trailer with the caption that reads, “History does not remember the blood. It remembers names.” The clip introduces major characters from the series including Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower.

Later, the makers also released the new posters of the characters including King Viserys Targaryen, Prince Daemon Targaryen, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Hand of King Otto Hightower, daughter to the Hand of the king- Alicent Hightower, The sea snake, Corlys Velaryon, Queen Rhaenys Targaryen, confidante to Daemon-Mysaria, and knight of the kings guard-Criston Cole.

Earlier, a shorter teaser was released in October last year which featured a voiceover from Matt Smith's Prince Daemon Targaryen, "Dreams didn't make us kings — dragons did." The video gave a glimpse into a new version of the Iron Throne then without revealing much about the dragons.Take a look:
Along with the poster, the makers announced the series' premiere date as August 21. The series is slated to air on HBO and will also be available on HBO Max . Similar to most seasons of Game of Thrones, the upcoming series will consist of 10 episodes in its first season.
