Sangram Singh calls fiancé Payal Rohatgi a pure soul; says ‘getting married is just a formality for us’

Back in 2011, wrestler Sangram Singh and actress Payal Rohatgi met each other for the first time while shooting for reality show Survivor India. Love blossomed between the two and they got engaged. Well, after being together for 12 years, the couple is now all set to tie the nuptial knot in July. Sangram officially proposed to Payal when he entered Kangana Ranaut ’s Lock Upp , where his lady love was a contestant. Recently the couple shared their ‘save the date’ post long with the caption: “Coming this July... Where we get to say the vows!!! And be wedding-bound!Love Sangram & Payal.”

In an interview with ETimes, Sangram opened up about their wedding. He revealed that the date has not been set yet but he wants to get married around his birthday, which falls on 21st July. While his sister works that out, the couple is planning a simple ceremony in Gujarat, Haryana or Rajasthan. Talking about his wife to be, Sangram shared, “Payal is a very honest and a pure soul, she has never pushed me to get married. She always told me that whenever you are ready for marriage and feel this is the right time, we will do it.”

The wrestler went on to state, “Getting married is just a formality for us, it is like giving a name to our relationship, in our society it becomes important for a girl especially for her respect.” Sangram shared that their families are very happy with the decision and also added that he does not feel he could get a better life partner than Payal, who is quite similar to him in many ways.
