Sumbul Touqeer Khan's new show to replace Tina Datta starrer Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum? Read deets

After winning hearts in her recently released music video ‘Sazishen’, Sumbul Touqeer Khan will be back with a bang on our TV screens in a new show. Yes, you heard that right! This will mark her return to the TV fiction space after her stint on the reality show Bigg Boss 16. Now, according to reports, Sumbul’s show will be replacing Tina Datta’s show Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum which airs on the same channel.

Talking about the same, according to a report in Filmibeat, Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s ambitious project might replace Tina Datta’s Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum because the latter has been failing to generate TRPs for quite some time now. A source close to the development revealed to the portal, “Sumbul Touqeer's upcoming show will be the next big launch on Sony TV. The show is expected to get a prime time slot on the leading channel. The higher-ups have not finalized a time slot or launch date for the drama. The channel has not taken a decision on Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum which is struggling to gain TRPs." Even though the channel is yet to put a seal on the decision, Tina’s show which also stars Jay Bhanushali in the lead role is definitely under the radar.

Meanwhile, talking about Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s new show, it will reportedly be based on a woman who is an IAS officer by profession and goes on to marry an IPS officer. The show is said to be titled Kavya which will also be the name of Sumbul’s character. It is how her character will balance her marital responsibilities along with her profession will form the main crux of the story. The casting head of the show also confirmed the same while quoting Sumbul’s viral look test.

Interestingly, Tina Datta and Sumbul Touqeer Khan were co-contestants in Bigg Boss 16. They were very much at loggerheads with each other during their stint on the show especially because of their equation with Shalin Bhanot. Well, it will be interesting to see whether Sumbul’s show leads to Tina’s show getting an axe.
