The trailer, which was released earlier, showcases a glimpse into the chaotic and whimsical tale of a wedding event that takes place in a family. Basil plays Vinu, an enthusiastic NRI-return who is getting ready to marry Anaswara Rajan’s character. However, things take a sudden turn when Vinu backs out of the wedding, due to some unknown reasons, but is forced to go ahead with the marriage. Prithviraj Sukumaran essays the role of Anand, the brother of the bride, who seems to be playing a negative shade character in the film. Nikhila Vimal’s character, who plays Anand’s wife, also seems distant from her husband, as shown in the trailer. However, Anand’s abnormal behavior is humorous, as he is determined to get his sister married to Vinu. The quirky yet chaotic wedding situation is what Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is all about.

Director Vipin Das about Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil

Earlier, director Vipin Das urged audiences to view the upcoming comedy entertainer in a light-hearted manner and not to go with a ‘serious mindset’. “I am genuinely concerned about the audiences who will watch the movie with a serious mindset like that of Manjummel Boys,” the director said, and highlighted that Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is a fun-filled drama like classic comedies like Thenkasipattanam or Kalyana Raman.
