As expected, and anticipated, the Rajkummar Rao Srikanth has really picked up at the box office, major factors being the word-of-mouth publicity as well as the weekend. The film had collected Rs. 2.25 crores on the first day while it went on to collect Rs. 4.2 crores on its second day.

As per the reports available on Sacnilk’s website, it has been reported that, the film Srikanth has now managed to collect Rs. 5.5 crore nett in India on its third day, which is as per estimates. When the film Srikanth got released, which was along with the Hollywood film Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, there were many who felt that the Rajkummar Rao starrer biopic will face immense challenge from the Hollywood flick.

But, contrary to the assumptions about the competition between Srikanth and Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, both the films are faring reasonably well at the box office. One of the major reasons for the same happens to be the fact that both of these films have a totally different set of target audience, which is what has seemed to work in the favour of both the films.

As for the film Srikanth, it is a biopic based on the inspirational life of Srikanth Bolla, a man who was born with visual impairment, but, with his sheer grit, determination, confidence and a never-say-never attitude, went onto challenge not just the obstacles on his path, but also the Indian Education System.

Besides Rajkummar Rao, the film also stars Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in all-important roles. Even though it had a limited screen time, but, the impact that actor Jameel Khan had created in the role of A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is really praise worthy.

While the film has been directed by Tushar Hiranandani, it has been produced by Nasir Khan, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.
