Akshay Kumar calls Aanand L Rai a 'sust aadmi', filmmaker says actor lulls him to sleep by 9 now

Akshay Kumar , Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re has arrived on Disney + Hotstar on Christmas Eve and has already won viewers over. The movie marks the first collaboration between Aannand L. Rai and Akshay Kumar but certainly not the last.

The actor and the filmmaker recently graced the The Kapil Sharma Show recently and in the ‘uncensored’ footage from the show released on YouTube Akshay can be seen saying that he has already done two films with Aanand hopes to do some 23 more.

Soon after Atrangi Re, Akshay and Aanand L. Rai worked together on Rakshabandhan and have already wrapped up the movie which also stars Bhumi Pednekar . Talking about working with the filmmaker, Akshay remarked, “Inke saath Atrangi [Re] bhi khatam kar di, Rakshabandhan bhi khatam kar di, ab inke saath 23 filmmein aur banana hain (With him I have wrapped up, Atrangi Re, Rakshabandhan and now we have to work on 23 more films together).”

Akshay also called Aanand L. Rai a ‘sust aadmi’ before they had worked together making everyone laugh. “Itne sust aadmi they na ye, abhi inko jagaya hai aur ab ye roz uth ke kaam karte hain, raat ko 9-9:15 so jaate hain. Subha uthte hain, fata-fat kaam pe lag jaate hain, scripton pe bethe rehte hain. By god bohot sust they warna ( He was such a lazy guy, now he has been woken up and he wakes up every day and works and sleeps everyday by 9-9:15 PM. Wakes up in the morning gets to work on his scripts, else he was so lazy).”

Aanand then added to Akshay’s point commenting on the lifestyle shift that has undergone after working with the star and said, “Aiesa lagta hain 9-9:15 baje, Akshay sir mujhe lori suna rahe hain, ‘So jaa subha jaldi uthna hai tereko’ (At 9-9:15 in the evening it feels like Akshay sir is lulling me to sleep saying, ‘go to bed, you have to wake up early’).” Commenting on how he has worked with Akshay in two films in less than two years Aanand added, “Atrangi ke jetlag mein Rakshabandhan ban gayi (In the jetlag after Atrangi we completed Rakshabandhan).”

After Atrangi Re Aanand L Rai will be releasing Rakshabandhan in 2022.
