Ananya Panday mistakes Liger for ‘Tiger’ at airport; netizen calls it ‘Liger flop hone ka sadma’

Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda ’s sports drama Liger was touted to be one of the biggest films of Indian cinema before release. However, ever since it arrived in theatres this week, the film as well as the star cast is being brutally trolled on social media. While netizens feel the story-line and the climax did not meet expectations, they are disappointed with Vijay and Ananya’s performances. The latter has especially been slammed for her lack of expressions.

What’s worse is that an old video of former professional boxer Mike Tyson, who plays a cameo in the film, has resurfaced on the internet where he forgets he’s a part of Liger. Well, today Ananya was snapped at the airport looking pretty in a white suit. When the paparazzi called her ‘Liger girl’, she turned to the camera with a funny expression on her face and asked, “Tiger aa raha hai?” She apparently misheard the shutterbugs and thought they were talking about her Student of the Year 2 co-star Tiger Shroff .

This clip will leave you in splits. But what’s even funny is the comments below the video because netizens are now wondering if Ananya is trying to forget the film herself after it bombed. One comment read: “Matlab ab wo khud movie ko pehchane se inkar karegi😂”, while a netizen wrote: “Now she wants to forget this film😆😂😂.” Another user shared, “Liger ke flop ho jane ka sadma😂😂”, whereas a fan joked, “Khud ki movie khud ko yaad nai dusre kya yaad rakhenge😂😂😂.”

For the uninitiated, Liger grossed Rs 33.12 crore worldwide on its opening day. While Vijay will now reunite with Puri Jagannadh for Jana Gana Mana, Ananya has Zoya Akhtar’s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan in her kitty.
