Exclusive- Sadia Khateeb on Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan: My father who was hospitalized had asked me to do the project

Actress Sadia Khateeb is currently gearing up for her upcoming movie Raksha Bandhan alongside Akshay Kumar . The actress plays the eldest of the four sisters of Akshay’s character in the movie and her scenes with the superstar have been receiving a great response from the masses. Now, in an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Sadia spoke about how she ended up doing the Aanand L Rai directorial project.

Talking about the same, Sadia Khateeb revealed to us that her father who was hospitalized during the COVID-19 second wave played an important role in her bagging Raksha Bandhan. The actress said, “There are many factors that led to it. First of all, there was Akshay (Kumar) Sir, Aanand (L Rai) Sir, and the concept of family values. After Shikara , directly the lockdown happened after which I was like whatever project I choose as my second film has to be very special. I waited for a long time and I was not taking up anything. I was sure that my second project has to be something that comes straight from the heart and is truly special. I remember it was my father who was hospitalized due to the second COVID-19 wave, who called me up from the hospital and said you've to do Raksha Bandhan. He was the one who encouraged me to take up this film and then I was like, my father is with me on this, and there tick marks everywhere so that's how I did this project.”

The Shikara actress furthermore spoke about the lovely response that the trailer of Raksha Bandhan has been receiving. Sadia Khateeb said, “I'm completely overwhelmed because I didn't expect this response from people but yeah, I've been receiving some great response to the trailer and for my performance, and it’s overwhelming.” The movie is all set to be released on August 11.
