Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee couldn’t perform at the box office as expected. Released on February 24, 2023, the movie failed to pull the audience to theatres despite being a family entertainer. Amid this, the makers have released the teaser of a promotional song Deewane starring Jacqueline Fernandez with Emraan and Akshay. Soon after, a section of people wondered why the song is being released now after the film turned out to be a flop.

One more song which had absolutely NO ROLE in film. Good that they didn’t involve it in film. But then what kind of promotional campaign this was? What were they selling? Chaos!!” added another.
On the other hand, some of the netizens were reminded of Jacqueline and Emraan’s chemistry in Murder 2 after watching the teaser. One user reacted, “vinatge chemistry”, another commented, “After Dil sambhal ja jara.” One of the fans also wrote, “Murder 2 lite.” “Emraan and Jacqueline gives me Murder vibe,” read one of the comments. Meanwhile, Selfiee also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty in key roles. Earlier, the makers had released three songs– Kudi Chamkeeli, Kudiye Ne, and Sher at the time of the film’s release. Directed by Raj Mehta and backed by Cape of Good Films, Selfiee is the Hindi remake of Malayalam movie Driver License.
