Few days back, an incident of lapse in security had happened with our PM Modi , while he was on a visit to Punjab. But, what people did not see coming was how this incident would have affected the life of Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth . Well, the actor has found himself in the receiving end of criticism after he made a remark on ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, who was tweeting about the security lapse incident. In fact, Siddharth's choice of words have made netizens claim that he is a 'creep' who is using 'sexual slurs'.
After the incident with PM Modi, Saina Nehwal had tweeted, “No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists. #BharatStandsWithModi #PMModi.” In its reply, Siddharth wrote, “Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna.” Here's the tweet:

Shame on you #Rihanna https://t.co/FpIJjl1Gxz
But, this definitely did not go down well with the tweeps who called him out for using 'sexual slur'. In fact, celebs like Chinmayee Sripada also criticised the actor for his tweet. Here is how tweeps reacted to the tweet.
This is really crass, Siddharth. You just contributed to what a lot of us women are fighting against.
— Chinmayi Sripaada (@Chinmayi) January 10, 2022
Shame on you Siddharth. Please exercise restraint and decency in your conduct. Whether Saina or otherwise, such reprehensible behaviour does not auger well for any argument.

@Actor_Siddharth lot of people look up to you, not just as an actor but also because of the kind of stand you've taken on various issues. This is sending out a wrong message to all of them and your justification doesn't quite cut it. An apology would be better. https://t.co/1TVYcOrkiV

This is upsetting for us … express ur opinion but choose better words man . I guess u thought it was cool to say it this way . #notcool #disgraceful
— Parupalli Kashyap (@parupallik) January 10, 2022
Tells a lot about your crass upbringing. You should sue your parents for the childhood trauma that you must have suffered instead of spreading your vitriol online.
— Abhinav Khare (@iabhinavKhare) January 10, 2022
Stop harassing her! Your use of language is plain misogyny!
— Amrita Bhinder 🇮🇳 (@amritabhinder) January 9, 2022
Unadulterated hatred!
So @TwitterIndia provides a blue tick and normalises this crass sexual slur hurled at a national sports icon by a two-bit actor, and they talk about how they want to make Twitter a ‘safe space’ for women. This is not the first time this Siddharth Sicko has done this. pic.twitter.com/PQkliIMRQY

This was very distasteful on your part. You are an actor and people look upto you and your movies.
— Jayaganesh (@jayaganeshpai) January 10, 2022
And is this how you choose to lead them with such choice of words? https://t.co/BPsIr5VCxk
It's not just young brainwashed kids who harass women online. It's a pervasive, dirty, deep rooted mindset.Abusing people's mothers or using sexual slurs is getting normalised by creeps like this Siddharth guy, who are "influencers"

Today, the actor issued a clarification after facing the ire of netizens. Replying to the same tweet, he added, ""COCK & BULL" That's the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period." Here's the tweet:

Saina Nehwal has also reacted to it. Talking to PTI, she said, “Yeah, I'm not sure what he meant. I used to like him as an actor but this was not nice. He can express himself with better words but I guess it's Twitter and you remain noticed with such words and comments.” Siddharth has always been outspoken about issues and never shies away from sharing his opinion on everyday matters.
