Akshay Kumar is back: Twitterati hail Cuttputli, claim Ratsanan remake 'superbly handled'

Akshay Kumar is back with another film, Cuttputli , the Hindi remake of the 2018 Tamil crime thriller Ratsanan. The film ditched theatrical release and arrived on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on September 2. Unlike his earlier releases like Samrat Prithviraj, Bachchhan Paandey, and Raksha Bandhan which failed miserably at the box office, Cuttputli is being hailed by the Tweeple.

In Ranjit M Tiwari’s directorial, Akshay stepped into the role of Vishnu Vishal, who played the police officer in the Tamil film. While Rakulpreet features in the character played by Amala Paul for the Hindi remake. The film revolves around a police officer who tries to capture a serial killer who loves to harass and kill school girls. The netizens gave thumbs up to the remake and called it a masterpiece.

Akshay has faced a lot of criticism for doing back-to-back movies and delivering disasters like Samrat Prithviraj among others in the past. Amid this, Cuttputli may turn out to be a game-changer for the actor. Meanwhile, he will next be seen in Ram Setu alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film revolves around an archeologist investigating the nature of Ram Setu. It is slated to release on Diwali 2022. Besides it, he is working on the Hindi remake of Suriya’s National award-winning Tamil film Soorarai Pottru.
