Exclusive- Bhumi Pednekar recalls Badhaai Do scene which made her miss father: ‘There was so much I want to tell my dad’

In her 7 year long career as an actor, the very talented Bhumi Pednekar has portrayed many roles on the silver screen. May it be Sandhya of Dum Laga Ke Haisha , Sugandha of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or Vedika from Pati Patni Aur Woh -- each character came with its own set of challenges, but the actress successfully won our hearts every single time. Well, currently Bhumi is on cloud nine thanks to the love received by her recently released comedy drama, Badhaai Do . In the film, the actress has played the role of a PE teacher named Suman, a closeted lesbian who enters a lavender marriage with Shardul, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao.

Well, in an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Bhumi revealed which scene was the most challenging for her to shoot. The actress shared, “It has to be the scene-- without giving any spoilers away-- there’s a particular scene between my father and I. I think it was definitely a very very challenging scene and more so because, you know, my mum is a single parent. I lost my father at a very young age. So for me it was also very emotional because, you know, I felt like there was maybe so much that I would want to tell my dad that he would not know.”

Bhumi further added, “And what Sumi is going through is something very, very similar. You know, she’s very vulnerable at that point.
