Mohanlal will have a special cameo in Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer'

Director Nelson has roped in Malayalam superstar Mohanlal for a cameo in his upcoming movie Jailer . Mohanlal will join the sets of the movie later this week.

Jailer will mark the first time Mohanlal will be acting alongside the legendary Rajinikanth and is sure to have fans excited.

Jailer will be the best time Rajinikanth will be working with director Nelson, The director's last movie was the Beast which starred Vijay in the lead role. Jailer also marks the Tamil debut of Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar.

The movie was announced by Sun Pictures in February and production officially started in July with shooting taking place in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Coimbatore.

The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan.

The music for the movie is composed by Anirudh, making it his third collaboration with Rajinikanth, after Petta and Darbar. Cinematography is handled by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal is in charge of the editing.

Meanhwile Mohanlal has a lot of projects lined up for 2023, the actor's first movie of the year 'Alone' will be hitting theaters on January 26th.

Alone will see Mohanlal collaborating with veteran director Shaji Kailas after a gap of 12 years. The duo last worked together in the 2009 action movie Red Chillies.

The music for the movie was composed by the group 4 Musics, with cinematography being handled by Nation Award winner Abinandhan Ramanujam, and Don Max in charge of editing.

Along with that, he will be making his directorial debut in the fantasy action movie Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure.

He will also be collaborating with maverick filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery for the first time in Malaikottai Valiban, which is currently in the early stages of production.

Jailer will be releasing worldwide on 14 April 2023.
