Runway 34 vs Heropanti 2 box office collection: Ajay Devgn starrer surpasses Tiger Shroff's film on Eid

On Eid , Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34 did comparatively well than Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2. However, both the films failed to make a mark at the box office which is still being ruled by Yash 's ' KGF Chapter 2'.

As per various trade analysts, it was predicted that both films could have achieved massive numbers at the box office if they held their ground till Eid. However, nothing great was achieved but they definitely showed a minor rise in their collections on Tuesday. While Runway 34 collected around Rs 4 crore on the festival, Heropanti 2 only managed to earn around Rs 2.50 crore. On the other hand, KGF 2 which is now in its third week, yet earned higher than both Runway 34 and Heropanti 2, taking its total collection (Hindi) to Rs 373.33 crore.

As per day-wise collection, Ajay’s aviation thriller on its opening day earned Rs 3 crore then continued to rise on the weekend(Saturday and Sunday) grossing Rs 4.5 crore and Rs 5.5 crore respectively. On its first Monday, however, the collection dropped by 15 percent and collected around Rs 2.35 crore. With Tuesday’s box office numbers, the film has in total earned around Rs 19.35 crore.

On the other hand, Tiger’s masala entertainer peaked on its opening day but showed a downward trend till its first Monday. On Day 1, the movie earned Rs 6,25,00,000 approx, while on Day 2 and Day 3, its collection dropped to Rs 4.75 crore and Rs 4 crore respectively. The Day 4 collection further dipped to Rs 1 crore, and on Day 4, the film earned Rs 2.50 crore. The total collection of the film now stands at around Rs 18.5 crore.

Meanwhile, both the films now stand the last chance to showcase their magic at the ticket window since the upcoming weekend will witness the release of the Hollywood action flick Doctor Strange which is expected to rule the box office just like KGF 2.

Inspired by the true events, Runway 34 also Amitabh Bachchan , Rakul Preet Singh , Boman Irani , Aakanksha Singh, and Angira Dhar in prominent roles. Directed and bankrolled by Ajay himself, the film arrived in theatres on April 29. On the same day, Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 also starring Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was released. Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is a sequel to its 2014 film Heropanti.
