'Upbeat, colourful and optimistic' : Timothee Chalamet's Wonka trailer give fans a happy vibe

The makers of Timothee Chalamet starrer Wonka have now released a new trailer for the movie which is leaving the internet very happy. The movie focuses on the early days of Willy Wonka’s life on how he went on to become a world-famous chocolatier and opened his lavish and mystical chocolate factory. The movie is a prequel to the movie 1971 movie Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory which starred Gene Wilder in the lead role of the iconic chocolatier.

Hugh Grant plays an Oompa Loompa

Talking about the same, the trailer shows Willy to be a strong-willed and determined inventor who wants to make a mark in the world through his inventions. Being passionate about chocolate, he soon makes a chocolate-making machine that produces delectable chocolates. We also see him meeting an Oompa Loompa named Lofty who has been played by Hugh Grant.

Willy Wonka faces some obstacles in this trailer

Willy soon starts selling chocolates to the poor people in the town at affordable prices. This angers the rich, greedy, and entitled men of the town who try to intimidate and attack Wonka. They forbade Wonka to sell his chocolates in the town but he is certainly in no mood to stop. Take a look at the same.

No sooner was the trailer released than fans also started praising the same. One of the fans stated, “I may be alone in saying this. But, as “campy” as this looks at times, I really feel like THIS is the of film that is desperately needed right now. Lighthearted, upbeat, colorful and optimistic. I will absolutely be seeing this opening weekend.” A netizen added, “I have to say it was bold of them to have kept this film within the continuity and design of the original film with Gene WIlder, which Roald Dahl hated. Regardless, it is a timeless classic to those of us whose hearts it stole and whose waistlines have suffered for it ever since.” The movie has been directed by Paul King and also stars Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Colman, and Natasha Rothwell in the lead roles.
