After gaining fan sympathy over her alleged rejection from Sita, Kareena Kapoor says 'was never offered the film'

Remember when the netizens were literally divided over Kareena Kapoor Khan being offered Sita’s role for the magnum opus The Incarnation Sita ? It all started after the actress was reported to charge a whooping Rs 12 crore for the part which started a huge hue and cry amongst people. While some users were left agitated over the actress charging such a high fee and felt her undeserving of the part, there were others who felt that she is very much in the position to ask for such a mammoth remuneration. However, now it has been revealed that Kareena was never offered the movie in the first place. Yes, you heard that right! After so much of controversies surrounding the rumors of the film, the actress has now revealed that she was never a choice for the film.

Talking about the same, Kareena Kapoor Khan told Zoom in a recent interview, “The reason I never gave an explanation is because I was never offered that film. I don't even know why I was put into that because I wasn't the choice for the film. These all are made-up stories and I don't want to put anybody down because maybe even they need stories. Every day people are looking for some sort of stories on Instagram but I don't know where it came from."

Well, this only makes us wonder that if the actress would have issued a clarification earlier, there wouldn’t have been such a huge hullabaloo surrounding this issue. Kareena Kapoor Khan was targeted by numerous trolls who alleged that she is hurting religious sentiments by charging such a huge fee for a revered part like Sita while some stated that she is just not suitable for the part. Not only this but the Bajrang Dal warned protests if a movie based on Ramayana goes on floors with Kareena playing the titular part.

However, Kareena also had her own group of supporters. Some netizens came to her rescue and pointed out the double standards and how there wouldn’t have been such chaos surrounding the same if Kareena Kapoor Khan was a male actor. Taapsee Pannu had said in an interview, “If it would have been a man in that position, who would have asked for a particular amount, it would have been looked upon like, 'iski market badh gayi hai (his worth has improved)'. Like that guy has really achieved big success in life. But because a woman is asking for it, she's called 'difficult', 'too demanding'. It's always like that.” Well, now it seems all the discussion and debates surrounding the fiasco was futile after the actress’ latest revelation.
