Ajay Devgn to be a part of Shaitaan 2? Here's all you need to know

Actors Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan starred together in the film Shaitaan, which was released earlier this year and had a good run at the box office. After basking in the success of Shaitaan, the makers have announced that they have begun working on the script for Shaitaan 2.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmakers have begun working on the script for Shaitaan 2 and Ajay Devgn is likely to be a part of the sequel as well.

The source revealed that the work has begun on the writing of Shaitaan 2. “Once the script is locked, the makers along with Ajay Devgn will decide when the film should go on floors. The first part was one of the biggest hits of the year and got a lot of acclaim. Hence, they are clear that they’ll take their time in getting the script right,” the source added.

The report further stated that the trend of franchise films has gained popularity, with fans eager to see their favourite actors reprise their iconic roles. “Ajay Devgn follows this path, consistently delivering successful projects in his franchise films. With each new announcement, he keeps fans hooked and builds anticipation for his character’s next appearance in the franchise,” the sources added.

Helmed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan was released in March 2024 and starred actors Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala and Palak Lalwani.

Ajay Devgn in sequel films

On the work front, Ajay Devgn recently completed shooting for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming thriller drama film Singham Again. The action film boasts a stellar cast, including Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar. The movie will release on Diwali 2024.  Singham Again is the third part in Rohit Shetty's Singham series. The second film in the franchise was Singham Returns.

Ajay Devgn has also begun filming Son of Sardaar 2, a project starring alongside Mrunal Thakur. It was earlier reported that actor Sanjay Dutt is out of the film as he had issues with his UK visa.

If reports are to be believed, the makers of Drishyam will announce the third part of the franchise soon.  Ajay Devgn starred in parts one and two of Drishyam.
