Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2: Kangana Ranaut lauds Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's film for ending Bollywood's 'dry spell'

Actress Kangana Ranaut ’s Dhaakad might not have won the clash against Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 at the box office, but the actress has no qualms about it. Kangana took to her Instagram stories to congratulate the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on the bumper opening that the film received on its opening day.

The actress condemned the team on ending the ‘dry spell’ Bollywood has been facing the box office of late and also tagged Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the post.

Kangana wrote, “Congratulations to Bhool Bhulaiya 2 for ending the dry spell at Hindi box office... congratulations to entire team of the film @kartikaaryan @kiaraaliaadvani.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on Friday emerged Bollywood biggest opener to date in 2022 by earning Rs. 14.11 crores on Day 1 at the box office. The horror comedy which is a sequel to the 2008 Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer earned rave reviews from fans online and is likely to emerge as a big hit.

The movie beat titles like Gangubai Kathiawadi and Bachchhan Paandey which had secured the only good opening day numbers for Bollywood in February and March respectively. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also became Kartik’s biggest opener in Bollywood breaking his previous record set by Love Aaj Kal .

Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad which released alongside Bhool Bulaiyaa 2 earned only Rs. 50 lakhs nett on its opening day. The movie which features Kangana in an action avatar was predicted to take a one crore opening at the box office.

Earlier, Kangana and Kiara had also promoted their two films together in a video shot during Salman Khan ’s Eid bash. They actresses had appealed to their fans to watch both Dhaakad and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in cinemas.
