Bipasha Basu opens up on why she took break from films

Bipasha Basu is one of the most loved actors in Bollywood and has worked in the industry for years. However, after tying the knot with beau Karan Singh Grover in 2016, the actress kept herself away from movies and other projects. Although she was last seen in the 2020 web series Dangerous alongside her husband Karan, the actress admitted that she was voluntarily away from the film industry. In the latest interview, the Hera Pheri actress revealed that it was her desire of starting a family that she decided to not take up work.

The 43-year-old actress recently took the internet by storm after she announced her pregnancy. Recently, she opened up about her journey of embracing motherhood and said that her plan was to focus on her family. “I was actually not taking up any kind of work, because I wanted to have a baby, then start working immediately again. It took me a little time. In 2020, we completely dropped the idea because we didn’t know where the world was going, so for one year we took a break from trying. In 2021 we decided to try again, and God has been kind, we conceived,” she told Hindustan Times.

Further, Bipasha also revealed that it was her mother whom she first told about her pregnancy. “It was a very emotional day. I remember me and Karan ran to my mother’s house just the way we were, she was the first person I wanted to tell. Everyone was emotional. It was my mother’s dream that me and Karan have a baby. I always had faith we will, and it happened. I am more than grateful for this,” she added.

Meanwhile, Bipasha and Karan announced their pregnancy with bold and beautiful snaps from their breathtaking maternity shoot.“Too much love for only two, seemed a little unfair for us to see…so soon, we who once were two will now become three. A creation manifested by our love, our baby will join us soon and add to our glee,” read the caption.
