Hrithik Roshan was six when he realised he stammers, would struggle to even say he wants to be an actor

Hrithik Roshan had found overnight success right after the release of his debut film, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai in 2000. #Hrithikmania grappled the entire nation, and probably the world. Even as a newbie, he was mobbed and fans went crazy. In the last two decades that he has been a part of the industry, his popularity has only grown and we have seen him get better with each and every performance. He has been an inspiration to many, including actor Tiger Shroff who shared screen with him in War . From his dialogue delivery, to his performances to his smooth dance moves- he has aced everything. But, the journey for Duggu, as he is lovingly called by his parents, was not an easy one. In fact, he has battled, and still overcomes his speech problem every day!

Yes, you read that right. The actor who has used heavyweight Urdu words in Jodhaa Akbar has an issue of stammering. In a talk show hosted by Farah Khan , Hrithik had opened up about the issue. He had revealed that the problem was first diagnosed when he was just 6 years old. Comparing the experience to hell, he added that he would just get stuck while speaking, without knowing why and that would make him palpitate. In fact, he was made fun of in school. He also opened up about dreading going to school some days and getting a fever during oral tests.

He also added that it was almost embarrassing when he would say he wants to be an actor, because he wouldn't be able to even say the sentence properly. Talking about overcoming it, he said he would just keep repeating all the letters in every way possible. He just practices words all day and even revealed that he does it even now.

He also recalled an incident of going on a date with his ex-wife Sussanne in college and having the worst stammering incident while ordering. He said that strangely enough, Sussanne knew what he wanted to order and she ordered it for him. Hrithik added that she was the first girl who did not make him feel uncomfortable.

Well, Hrithik's story is one of inspiration and it isn't for no reason that he is considered a hero by so many people across the nation and the world.
