Kriti Sanon recalls how her manager was advised to have her sign for a small role: 'Don’t think she can get something better'

Kriti Sanon is one the busiest actresses in the industry today. With as many as five movie releases lined up for the year, the actress opened up about her journey in the film industry and looked back at moments when she was undermined as a talent and was asked to settle for small roles.

The Bachchan Pandey actress had no ties to the industry when she decided giving acting a shot leaving her career in engineering behind. Kriti made her debut in Bollywood opposite Tiger Shroff and to bag bigger and better projects every passing year since. Kriti spoke to Bollywood Bubble about her initial struggles and revealed how a casting director told her manager that she’s unlikely to find a better role and that she should take up the small pert she was being offered in an ensemble.

Kriti told the portal, “There were times when I like, got a film, which I’ve spoken about before, not the name, but I got a film which was by big production, very big production but it didn’t have a good enough part. Like she was the only girl, but it was an ensemble (cast). It didn’t have much for me to do and it was a big casting director and she was so sweet but she told me like ‘Do you wanna wait out or do you want to do it?’ And then my manager was also told that ‘I don’t think she can get something better, she should just take it up’.”

The actress further revealed that during the initial days she’d audition for parts meant for new comers and the role would end up in the lap of a star kid or an established actor. Kriti further said that while it was disheartening she felt fortunate that she wasn’t treated bad.
