L2: Empuraan: The Mohanlal starrer adds Arjun Das and Shine Tom Chacko to its cast

    The latest additions to Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan is Arjun Das and Shine Tom Chacko. Arjun Das is known for his roles in movies like Kaithi and Master.

    Shine Tom Chacko is a rising star in the Malayalam industry having played roles in the movies like Christopher and Neelavelicham, the actor also made his Telugu debut this year with Dasara.

    Prithviraj and the team of L2: Empuraan are currently busy location scouting for the movie. The highly anticipated sequel to 2019s Lucifer is expected to begin shooting this August and will be shot in six foreign locations.

    Lucifer which starred Mohanlal and marked Prithviraj's directorial debut is the third highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time.

    Lucifer was made on a budget of 30 crores and managed to gross a massive 125 crores at the box office, the movie was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas with a screenplay by Murali Gopi.

    Director Prithviraj revealed that the movie will both be a prequel and sequel to 2019's Lucifer. The movie will focus on how Stephen Nedumpally rose through the ranks of the international criminal underworld as well focus on the events that take place after the events of Lucifer.

    Prithviraj has also hinted that the movie might have a few surprise cameos from actors from both Bollywood and South Indian industries.

    Since L2: Empuran is both a prequel and a sequel we can expect to see a majority of the main cast of the original which includes Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Tovnio Thomas, Indrajoth Sukumaran, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar return.

    Meanwhile, Mohanlal is currently busy with director Lijo Jose Pellisery's Malaikottai Vaaliban which will also mark the first time the duo have collaborated.

    While plot details remain under wraps, it is rumored the movie is a period drama and that Mohanlal will be playing the role of a wrestler named Chemboth Simon.

    The crew of Malaikottai Valiban just wrapped up the Rajasthan schedule of the project including a big action sequence in Pokhran with over 200 extras.

    Malaikottai Vaaliban is Mohanlal's first collaboration with critically acclaimed director Lijo Jose Pellissery, the movie reportedly has a massive budget, and a lot of big stars are rumored to be a part of the project.

    The actor will also have a cameo in the Rajinikanth action flick Jailer, marking the first time the two stars will be sharing the big screen.

    L2: Empuraan is expted to satrt filimng in August.
