Lata Mangeshkar on ventilator again as health deteriorates

    Lata Mangeshkar, who is still admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital, has been shifted back to the ventilator after her health deteriorated.

    It has been a few weeks since singer Lata Mangeshkar has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Popularly known as 'The Nightingale of India', Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the hospital after testing positive for COVID. She was put on the ventilator too, but her health improved and she was later shifted to the ICU . However, her health seems to have deteriorated once again and she has been put on the ventilator, again.

    ANI confirmed the news. Quoting a doctor from Breach Candy Hospital where Lata Mangeshkar is admitted, it shared, "Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar's health condition has deteriorated again, she is critical. She is on a ventilator. She is still in ICU and will remain under the observation of doctors." 

    Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the hospital at the beginning of January. on Jan 27th, a statement was posted on her social media which read, "Lata didi continues to be in the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai under treatment. She has been given a trial of extubation (off the invasive ventilator ) this morning. Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr. Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of you for your prayers and good wishes."
