Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was fondly called the Nightingale of India, bid the world a final adieu on 6th February due to multi-organ failure. This devastating news left the entire nation in shock and broke millions of hearts. Singer Rahul Vaidya, who was a fan of the Swar Kokila like the rest of the country, took to his social media handle to share a clip of the time he interviewed Lata didi. In this video, Rahul calls Lata ji ‘ Bharat Mata’ as she sits gracefully wearing a tri-colored saree. Her reaction to his statement is priceless!

Among many other celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan , Sachin Tendulkar and Ranbir Kapoor , Rahul also reached the Shivaji Park ground yesterday evening to attend Lata ji’s funeral in order to pay his last respects. Post the funeral, in an interaction with the paparazzi, the Bigg Boss 14 runner up fondly remembered the Nightingale. He shared that Lata ji was Saraswati Maa for musicians and expressed his disbelief at the fact that she is not amongst us anymore. Rahul went on to add that he was not lucky enough to ever have the chance of working with her, but feels honored that he interviewed her.

Rahul recalled how Lata didi gave him lots of love and blessings during their interaction. When asked how he would remember the legendary singer, Rahul replied that the entire world will remember her and her voice. He went on to add, “Jab tak suraj chaand rahega, Lata didi ka naam rahega.” Well, we can all agree to this. Lata ji may not be amongst us today but will continue to live on in our hearts.
