Mouni was quite ecstatic about the kind of positive response she received for her performance in the film. My role was only mine, I had to play the role of the antagonist in the film. That was my responsibility. I had to focus on my character and that’s what I did," she said.

Even as Brahmastra has received thumbs up from the audience mainly for its VFX, the actors also garnered praise for the portrayal of their roles in the action-adventure drama. One such character is Mouni Roy ’s ‘Junoon’ - an antagonist in the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt -starrer fantasy drama. However, a section of social media thinks that Mouni’s character in the Ayan Mukerji directorial seemed more important to the script than Alia Bhatt’s Isha.

“I don’t think anything is more important or less important, I just think that because of Junoon having a certain, quiet confidence and power, the audience reacted to her in a way that even I did not anticipate or expect… My role was only mine, I had to play the role of the antagonist in the film. That was my responsibility. I had to focus on my character and that’s what I did,” Mouni Roy told Siddharth Kannan in a recent interview.

Mouni was quite ecstatic about the kind of positive response she received for her performance in the film. “It feels very nice to hear the audiences' response... I think my hard work over the years has paid off. It feels great. But I feel I am being honest when I say that Brahmastra is everyone’s film. The world Ayan has created, it is a story about heroes and VFX. In this ensemble cast, every character is very important, and made has this film what it is today. You cannot negate anybody’s contribution to the film,” Roy also said.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan, reportedly amassed over Rs 400 crore globally within a month. The film which was released on September 9 is said to be the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022. It is the third highest-grosser India movie for the year so far.
