    Yesteryear actor Mumtaz was admitted to Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai after she suffered from diarrhea. The golden era diva has now been discharged from the hospital after a week of treatment.

    Mumtaz revealed that she has been hospitalised due to Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Colitis both. The 74-year-old told Etimes that it was a sudden attack that despite medications did not stop, hence she was rushed to the hospital. She said it took her seven days to normalise.

    During her time in the hospital, the actor revealed her skin troubled her. She said, “Being an Iranian, my skin is very delicate. I was on a drip for an entire week in the hospital. The injection of the drip could only be inserted in my right hand; my left hand could not be used because my lymph nodes were removed when I had contracted breast cancer 25 years ago."

    Mumtaz’s husband Mayur Madhwani was in the US at the time she was admitted to the hospital. When he insisted to come down to India, she said she will deal with it. "He was in the US and said that he's coming down to India. I stopped him and said that I will tide over this. But he insisted that I should have the best of nurses and facilities at home. He loves me a lot and I am lucky to have him in my life,"

    Now, after her recovery, Mumtaz has decided to go back to her husband in London on May 11. The actress was last seen with Shatrugan Sinha at a get-together in November last year. She also met her friend and actress Anju Mahendroo in March this year.

    Meanwhile, Mumtaz, originally known as Mumtaz Askari Madhvani has been Bollywood’s highest-paid actress during the golden period from 1960s to the 1970s. Born in 1947, she hails from Iran and has featured in several successful films like Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Brahmachari (1968), Aadmi Aur Insaan (1969) and Khilona (1970).
