Neetu Kapoor reveals both Rishi Kapoor and she fainted on their wedding day, actress took pheras drunk on brandy

Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor have been one of the most loved on-screen and off-screen pair in Bollywood. While many may be aware of their love story, the actress made an interesting revelation about her wedding day during an interview and said that both she and the late actor fainted on their wedding day.

In a conversation about wedding and food, the actress referring to her wedding day said, “Jab humari shaadi ho rahi thi, main faint ho gayi thi and my husband also fainted.” Neetu’s revelation about her wedding made her co-stars Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani unanimously go ‘What?’ in sheer disbelief.

“We both fainted, because there were too many people and my husband fainted was petrified of crowds. So before getting onto the ghodi he fainted. So, he was having brandy, I was having brandy and that’s how our wedding was. I was drunk while taking the pheras,” the actress added.

Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor had tied the knot in January 1980 after nearly four years of having known each other. They had met on the sets of the film Zehreela Insaan and went on to work together in a few more films. The actress left movies after her marriage, as was the tradition with the women in the Kapoor family.

Rishi Kapoor died in 2020 after a two-year battle with cancer and Neetu Kapoor found balance in her life again by deciding to return to acting with Jugjugg Jeeyo which released in cinemas today. She stars opposite Anil Kapoor in the movie, which is currently garnering rave reviews from the critics and audience alike.
