Priyanka Chopra Jonas remembers walking out of a film after a director said: ‘I need to see her underwear’
After revealing that she felt cornered in Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has now recalled an appalling incident on set that made her walk out of a film
Apart from being our beloved desi girl, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a global icon today who is representing India as she races ahead on her journey to world domination. She is currently soaring high on the success of her recently released film Love Again, which netizens reviewed as one of the best rom coms of recent times. Simultaneously she is winning hearts with her incredible performance as a badass spy in the Russo brothers’ action thriller series Citadel. She is touching new heights as each year passes by, but the path to the top hasn’t been the easiest.
A while ago PeeCee took the internet by storm when she admitted that she had ‘beef’ with people in the Bollywood industry, which made her seek work in the West. Well, in her latest interaction with The Zoe Report, Priyanka has now revealed a shocking incident that took place on set when she was shooting in her early days as an actor. Back in 2002-2003, she was signed in a film for the role of an undercover agent. Priyanka was quoted saying, “I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy — obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing [at a time]. I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise why is anybody coming to watch this movie?”
Priyanka decided to walk out from the project just two days later after this incident, which she described as a ‘dehumanizing moment’. She explained, “It was a feeling of, I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.” But being the professional individual that she is, the actress paid the production back with her own money.
This is just one example of the many hurdles that Priyanka crossed in her journey to become a superstar, and it is appalling.
