    The entertainment industry on Wednesday suffered a huge loss with the unfortunate demise of veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik . Not only his family and friends, but the entire Bollywood is mourning his death. The news came as a shock to many as Satish happily played Holi with his celebrity friends just a day before his death. Reportedly, he was in Delhi when he suffered a heart attack while travelling in a car. The 66-year-old was declared dead as soon as he was taken to the hospital in the wee hours of Thursday, March 9. Several celebrities including Raj Babbar, Anupam Kher, and Javed Akhtar among others have reached his residence to pay condolences to his family. While Varun Dhawan , Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Akshay Kumar , and others penned a heartwrenching note on social media while expressing their grief.

    Varun shared a photo of Satish with his dad David Dhawan and Anupam Kher, and wrote, “ RIP Salesman Ramlaal’ on his Instagram stories. While Kareena Kapoor remembered her working experience with Satish in Milenge Milenge and Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. “Extremely heartbroken Satishji, thinking of all our times together, rest in laughter and peace, “she wrote. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Chanda Mama is gone. Deeply saddened to hear about Satish Kaushik ji’s demise. Will remember him for the spontaneous laughter he brought to the sets of Mr & Mrs Khiladi. Am sure he’s already making everyone smile in heaven. Om Shanti.”

    Saddened by Satish’s death, Priyanka Chopra said, “Om Shanti sir, Papa, and you will be talking and laughing as you always did. You will be very missed. Thank you for bringing so much laughter into our lives. Sending love, prayer, and strength to the family.” Farhan Akhtar, who spend Holi with him two days before wrote, “Rest in peace Satish uncle. I still can’t believe that you’re no longer with us. Just 2 days ago we were celebrating Holi at Janki Kutir and having a laugh. And that’s how I will always remember you.. as a man who filled the lives of all he met with positivity and laughter. I always walked away from our conversations feeling good about life because that’s what spending time with a good person does. It uplifts the soul. You had that effect on all who knew you and you will be terribly terribly missed.”

    Kangana Ranaut called Satish her biggest cheerleader, and wrote, “Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.”Neena Gupta, who has been a close friend of Satish, broke down in the video she shared on Instagram.     Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a heartfelt condolence to Satish. “Pained by the untimely demise of noted film personality Shri Satish Kaushik Ji. He was a creative genius who won hearts thanks to his wonderful acting and direction. His works will continue to entertain audiences. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.

    Meanwhile, Satish started off as an actor in 1983 with the movie, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Since then he played diverse roles using his incredible acting prowess. It was in 1993, that he made his directorial debut with Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja. His last directorial is the 2021 release Kaagaz, while Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming movie, Emergency, is his last movie as an actor. His sudden demise has left deep void in the film industry.
