Sanjay Dutt pens emotional note on father Sunil Dutt's death anniversary: You will always be in my heart Dad

On his father Sunil Dutt's death anniversary, actor Sanjay Dutt shared a throwback photo with the legendary actor from his younger days. Alongside, he penned a heartfelt note in which he recalled how his father always guided, protected, and supported him in every need.

Taking to his Instagram, Sanjay posted a photo wherein he features in a black shirt with the late actor who is happily posing for the camera. “Through thick and thin, you were always there to guide and protect me. You were my strength, inspiration, and support in every need...the best a son could ask for. You will always be in my heart Dad, I miss you!❤️," he captioned the post. Have a look:

For the unversed, Sunil Dutt was a legendary actor who ruled the Hindi cinema in the 1950s and 1960s. He shot to fame with the 1957 film Mother India co-starring actress Nargis . He later married Nargis in 1958. They had three children, a son Sanjay Dutt, and two daughters, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt.

Sunil Dutt also worked with Sanjay in Rajkumar Hirani ’s comedy-drama Munnabhai MBBS. He turned politician and served as the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports in the Union Government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh and was the Member of Parliament from North-West Mumbai. He died of a heart attack on 25 May 2005 at his residence, two weeks before his 76th birthday.

Sanjay's sister Priya Dutt also remembered her father and shared a collage of throwback pictures that featured her father, mother Nargis Dutt, and Sanjay. Alongside, she wrote, "It's been 17 years today 25th May 2005. That year many changes happened in my life. I lost that one person who meant the world to me and that same year I experienced the joy of the birth of my son who means the world to me.
