    Following a strong positive response from fans and critics Top Gun: Maverick had grossed 116 million dollars worldwide, shattering Paramount studio's prediction of 80 million.

    according to the studio, the movie has earned 51.8 million from the North American markets and 64.7 million from other territories earning a total of 116.5 million as of friday

    now the movie is well on its way to earning 150 million just from North America making it the highest opening in Tom Cruise's career, its launch will also beat previous memorial day collections held by movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ($139.8M), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($126.9M), and X-Men: The Last Stand ($122.8M).

    as of today the movie has grossed 64.7million dollars from the international markets and is expected to earn 116 million by the weekend, breaking the total collection of over 260 million.

    The movie has a reported budget of 150 million dollars so the movie will have to earn 410 million within its theatrical run to break even for the studio, but it is more than likely that Top Gun: Maverick will easily gross a lot more at the box office.

    The movie currently holds a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 238 critic reviews and a 99% fresh rating from audiences

    Top: Gun Maverick is a sequel to the 1986 movie Top Gun directed by the late Tony Scott and followed a group of young US navy fighter pilots, the sequel is directed by Joseph Kosinski and is set 30 years after the events of the first movie.
