Ahead of the release of Laal Singh Chaddha on August 11, it was earlier reported that Aamir Khan has entered a deal with PVR which is currently the biggest national theatre chain in India. However, while this deal might work wonders for Aamir’s film, the same cannot be said for Akshay Kumar ’s Raksha Bandhan . Well, this is because, through this deal, Aamir will be getting around 65% of the shows in PVR which will leave only 35% of the shows for Raksha Bandhan. Well, one cannot help but wonder whether this is like an epic snub towards Akshay’s film by Aamir.

For the unversed, both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan will be clashing in the theatres on August 11. A source close to this humongous deal between Aamir Khan and PVR told Bollywood Hungama , “Aamir has partnered with PVR. It's a barter deal, and in the process, he will end up getting a major chunk of showcasing at PVR cinemas in India. The national chain controls nearly 55 percent of the total multiplex business in India, and with this move, Aamir will have an upper hand on the showcasing front to start with.”

But the source also added that this development does not spell major trouble for Raksha Bandhan too since it caters more to the rural belt of the country. The source furthermore stated that, “Raksha Bandhan team is well aware of their target audience. While Laal Singh Chaddha is more of an urban film, Raksha Bandhan caters to the rural belts and hence, Zee Studios is focusing more on getting the showcasing in single screens of India. By the time of release, though the overall showcasing will be in favour of Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan too, will have enough shows as an opportunity to become a hit.”

Well, all eyes are now on the two films which will lock horns with each other. While Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump , Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is based on a brother’s sense of love and sacrifice towards his four younger sisters.
