Afwaah trailer: Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar's lives turn upside down following a vicious rumour in Sudhir Mishra's political thriller

The much-awaited trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Afwaah was released by the makers on Wednesday. Directed by Sudhir Mishra , the upcoming political thriller focuses on the consequences people face because of rumours on social media. Produced by Anubhav Sinha , the film also stars Sumeet Vyas in a pivotal role.

The short clip introduces Vyas whose political career is at stake after his fiancee, played by Pednekar runs away. She meets Siddiqui during her escape and then they both get entangled in a vicious rumour that sparked on social media. Vyas starts chasing them following the rumour which lands them in a life-threatening situation. What happens next remains to be seen in the movie. Watch the trailer here:

Sharing the trailer on her Instagram handle, Pednekar wrote, “You can try to escape, but the chase never stops...Ek Afwaah aapki zindagi palat sakti hai. #AfwaahTrailer Out Now!”Soon after her post surfaced, netizens spammed the comment section. While one of the users praised the trailer saying, “At least fresh content came so far in Bollywood and plus point is the content is on a reality basis, sic.” Another netizen said, “Wow am happy to see that something new will be coming in Bollywood. Eagerly waiting.” “It's really good & true,” reacted one of the netizens.

Talking about the film Sudhir had earlier said that Afwaah is a thriller which conveys an important message. “The super-talented combo of Bhumi and Nawaz have given their best to this unconventional story and I am sure the audience is going to love watching them on the big screen,” he said in a statement. Meanwhile, the upcoming film also stars Sharib Hashmi, Sumit Kaul, TJ Bhanu, Rocky Raina and Eisha Chopra in key roles.The film is set to arrive in theatres on May 5
