Ananya Panday on Liger and Gehraiyaan: ‘Foraying into four new industries is scary’
Actress Ananya Panday has two exciting releases this year which feature her in very different avatars.
Star kid Ananya Panday began her journey in Bollywood with Student of the Year 2. She impressed fans with her portrayal of a cute but spoilt college student, but it was with her next few films that she proved her versatility. Well, the actress is now focusing on her upcoming projects Gehraiyaan and Liger, which are two of the most talked about and awaited films of the year. Shakun Batra 's Gehraiyaan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi, is a romantic drama, whereas Liger is a pan-India film which features Ananya and South superstar Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. Well, the fact that both her films are so different has been the most exciting part for Ananya.
In a recent chat with Bombay Times, the young actress shared, “Gehraiyaan is a complex relationship drama and playing my character in the film has almost been cathartic for me. The whole experience of that film has been magic, and I’ve met some of the best people on this film. It has been one of my favourite filming experiences. Liger is an out-and-out masala, action, comedy — basically like the kind of films that I’ve grown up watching, so it’s been a dream come true to be a part of it. I feel my character in Liger will be quite amusing and entertaining. Foraying into four new industries is scary, but also super exciting.”
Ananya further shared that she can’t wait to see how her fans and the audience react to the films and her different characters. She added that when one gets over the initial feeling of being conscious while doing ‘over-the-top comedy’ and has fun instead of worrying about how it will look, it all works out. Well, other than Liger and Gehraiyaan, Ananya has one more exciting project in her kitty-- Zoya Akhtar ’s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Siddhant and The White Tiger actor Adarsh Gourav.
