Anushka Sharma opts out of Jhulan Goswami's biopic, Triptii Dimri to take her place?

Anushka Sharma had been roped in for Jhulan Goswami's biopic a long time ago. The actress, who was last seen in Aanand L Rai 's Zero, was to make her comeback with this biopic. She was even seen with Jhulan Goswami and it raised excitement in the hearts of her fans, and the audience in general. The film was to go on floors this year. But now, it looks like there's a major change in plans.

If a report in Peepingmoon is to be believed, then Anushka Sharma is no longer a part of the project! Yes, she has opted out of the project. But, the actress will be associated with it in the capacity of a producer. Now, instead of her, Bulbbul actress Triptii Dimri will play the cricketer. A source told the portal, "The project has gone through a major change in the last couple of months and although the film is still happening, Anushka will not star in it. Now, Bulbbul actress Tripti Dimri will frontline this film while Anushka will be a part of it only as a producer. She is co-producing it along with Sony Pictures India."

Prosit Roy , who had earlier helmed Pari , will be directing this biographical sports drama. He has already started the prep and will kick off its shoot in the first quarter of 2022. The source added, "Tripti will have to undergo rigorous training for months before she starts shooting for the film. It's an extremely, physically demanding project that requires months of physical and mental dedication to get into the skin of the character. And this is the reason Anushka left the film. She doesn't want to do such a heavy lifting film so soon after her delivery. She is rather looking for some light-hearted, romantic projects that she can shoot without compromising her mother's duty."

While we are pretty sure that Triptii Dimri will be able to do justice to the part and that the film will help her prove her versatility, we are also wondering when we will get to watch Anushka Sharma on the big screens again. Jhulan Goswami's biopic was tentatively titled Chakdah Express. There has been no official word on the same yet.
