Ayan Mukerji: ‘Brahmāstra is also a love story; is a very natural and nice fit with Ranbir and Alia’

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have known each other since the last many years as they are a part of the same industry. But the time they started working together for Brahmāstra is when they actually got closer and eventually fell in love. Well, as fans eagerly waited for their film to arrive in theatres, the love birds gave the entire country a surprise by tying the nuptial knot in an intimate yet grand wedding on the balcony of their Bandra apartment. Well, it only raised our excitement to see Ranbir and Alia as Shiva and Isha in Brahmāstra.

In a recent interview with Good Times, director Ayan Mukerji opened up about his lead pair and the film. He shared, “As we now know about Ranbir and Alia, and I don’t know what I’m supposed to say or not to say, but there is a, I guess a love story there to talk about and the thing about Brahmāstra that you won’t realize right away, but I hope you will take away is that, in many ways, in its core, Brahmāstra Part One is also a love story amongst being many other things and I guess that is a very natural and nice fit with, you know, Ranbir and Alia. So I’m very excited about them in this movie.”

Also starring megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni as Guru and Artist Anish, along with television actress Mouni Roy in a negative role, Brahmastra is the first in a planned trilogy. It is Ayan’s passion project and took him over a decade to develop, which makes it all the more special. Well, after what seems like a long wait due to the pandemic, Brahmāstra is finally releasing on 9th September. The much awaited trailer will be out next week. Can’t wait!
