The trailer of Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus was released on Friday and it comes packed with surprises. The internet was swept away with Deepika Padukone’s vibrant cameo towards the end of the trailer of the movie, it has been almost confirmed now that Ranveer Singh is joining the Golmaal gang and is likely to be seen in the next instalment of the blockbuster comedy franchise.

Rohit Shetty has so far aced the ‘universe’ game giving Bollywood a blockbuster ‘cop universe’ with Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi. However, the filmmaker is now all set for a ‘comedyverse’ and Cirkus holds the key to amplifying the Golmaal universe.

In the trailer of Cirkus, we see young Gopal, Laxman, Madhav and Lucky at the entrance of the Jamnadas Orphanage where they were raised. With this tiny insert, the whole Golmaal franchise is getting a fresh perspective and looks like Ranveer Singh will be a part of it.

At the trailer launch Rohit Shetty hinted at Ranveer’s arrival in Golmaal 5 , which is next up in the franchise. Set in the ‘60s Cirkus sees Ranveer in a double role, and holds ample hints at being directly linked with the Golmaal films and characters. However, only time will tell how Ranveer will be linked with the lives of the Golmaal ensemble which stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Tushar Kapoor.

If you are keen follower of Rohit Shetty films, you would have already seen Ranveer’s entry in the Golmaal universe coming. A hint was dropped regarding this in Simmba as the Golmaal cast made a cameo in the song ‘Aankh Maarey’.

Ranveer in an interview with PTI has also excitedly confirmed his entry in the Golmaal universe, as he said, “For the past 15 years, the most loved comedy in Hindi cinema is ‘Golmaal’. I have been waiting for 15 years to be part of a film like this and it is a dream come true to work with genius talents like Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever and all our senior actors.”

For now, Rohit Shetty’s venture after Cirkus will be Singham 3 with Ajay Devgn.
