Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2: Vidya Balan will be a part of the Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani starrer, confirms Anees Bazmee

Anees Bazmee ’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is undoubtedly one of the most talked about and awaited films of Bollywood. The two major reasons behind this is the fresh new star cast including Kartik Aaryan , Kiara Advani and Tabu , and also the popularity of the original 2007 horror comedy, which featured Akshay Kumar , Ameesha Patel , Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja. The upcoming film is a standalone sequel and will present a new story to fans. However, a revelation about one major common factor has now left us even more intrigued. Vidya, who blew us away as Monjulika, will be returning in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2!

In a report shared by Mid Day, a source was quoted saying, “Their equation goes back to 2011, when Vidya made a cameo appearance in Anees’s film Thank You . She made the character of Monjulika, ghost of a royal dancer, memorable. [It is not clear if] Vidya will be seen dancing to Aami je tomar again or appear after the climax.” Well, the filmmaker confirmed the news and also revealed that Monjulika is his favorite character in the horror comedy. Bazmee shared, “If the film is Bhool Bhulaiyaa, she has to be there in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Let the rest be a surprise!”

For the uninitiated, Vidya played the role of an archeologist named Avni, who was married to Shiney’s character Siddharth . They return from US to stay at his ancestral palace, only to find out that it is haunted by the ghost of a classical dancer from Bengal. As the story moves forward, it is revealed that Avni tends to forget who she is and becomes Monjulika due to a mental disorder that she is suffering from. Well, one of the reasons that made the 2007 film iconic was the spectacular performances. We can’t wait to see how well the sequel does.
