Deepika Padukone opens up about The Intern, Pathan and Fighter; says ‘working with Shah Rukh feels like home’

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone is currently soaring high on the love received by her recently released film Gehraiyaan. While the story-line got mixed reviews from fans and critics, the actress’ performance was lauded by all! Well, up next the beauty has some really exciting projects in her enviable line up-- she will be reuniting with her Piku co-star Amitabh Bachchan for the Hindi adaptation of The Intern and will share the screen for the very first time with the Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan in Fighter .

But before taking these two projects on floors, Deepika will jet off for the foreign leg of Pathan. The action entertainer, directed by Siddharth Anand, will mark the actress’ fourth film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan after Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year and Chennai Express. Well, in a recent chat with Mid Day, Deepika shared updates about Pathan and Fighter. She was quoted saying, “Working with him (SRK) feels like home. This is my second film with [director] Siddharth Anand, so there is a comfort [level]. In the next few months, I will start Fighter with Hrithik.”

Talking about Big B co-starrer The Intern, the actress revealed, “The Intern will happen this year, or early 2023. The third wave wasn’t anticipated, so it threw a few things off course. But now, [we are] back on track.” Other than these three projects, Deepika will also be seen in Nag Ashwin’s untitled science fiction film opposite South superstar Prabhas , will join Ranveer Singh for a cameo in Rohit Shetty ’s Cirkus and will also portray Draupadi in a retelling of the Mahabharata.

Deepika is clearly going to be a busy bee!
