Dulquer Salmaan announces Kurup sequel titled Alexander, releases motion poster

Kurup, Dulquer Salmaan 's latest crime-thriller based on the life of wanted criminal Sukumara Kurup who is still wanted for insurance fraud and murder. The movie opened on 12th November and grossed RS. 50 crores on its opening weekend, a personal best for the actor.

While the movie did receive mixed responses from critics, it went on to gross over 80 crores at the box office and is one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies during the pandemic and bring back audiences to theaters. The movie got its digital release on Netflix and to mark the occasion the actor released a motion for the sequel called Alexander.

The sequel was hinted at the ending of Kurup. The name Alexander could be a call back to a classic gangster movie which stared the actor's father Mammootty called Samrajyam and came out in the year 1990 and ever since Dulquer started his acting career there have been rumors that he would act in its sequel however this never came to fruition.

So it will be interesting to see if this is just a callback or if the Kurup sequel would be connected to Samrajyam. You can see the motion poster below.
