Exclusive: The Kashmir Files star Darshan Kumaar was shocked when PM Modi reviewed the film; calls it a great honor
The Kashmir Files is one film which took our entire country by storm this year. Not just audiences but many celebrities and our very own Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reviewed the masterpiece and lauded the team.
Vivek Agnihotri ’s The Kashmir Files is undoubtedly one of the most talked about Indian films of the year. Starring an ensemble cast of talented actors like Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead, it followed the story of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 from the Kashmir valley. While a few did criticize the makers, most members of the audience expressed their gratitude to the team for bringing out the truth and making an incredibly touching film. Not just fans but many popular personalities of our country also came out in its support.
Well, recently Darshan was asked whose review came as a shock to him and was most endearing of them all. To this, he replied, “We feel blessed that we are getting lot of love from audience and famous personalities. The most endearing and shocking support for me was the day when our honorable Prime minister spoke about The Kashmir Files. It was a great honor for the entire team and we are very thankful to him. Our film fraternity showered their love in abundance too.... You feel on top of the world when you get this kind of love.”
As he addressed a meeting of BJP MPs at a Parliamentary Party meet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded The Kashmir Files for ‘revealing the truth’. Agnihotri and his entire team even received appreciation from PM Modi during their interaction. The filmmaker had shared a post about the same, which read: “I am so glad for you @AbhishekOfficl you have shown the courage to produce the most challenging truth of Bharat . #TheKashmirFiles screenings in USA proved the changing mood of the world in the leadership of @narendramodi.”
