    Aamir Khan got teary eyed after attending private screening of Nagraj Manjule’s Jhud. The Bollywood star stood up and clapped after watching the film which stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead and called it one of the star’s best works. Aamir also praised filmmaker Nagraj Manjule who was present at the screening for having perfectly captured the emotion of the youth and especially praised the young actors who star in the film.

    Talking to the producer of Jhund , Aamir says, “Bhushan [Kumar] kya film bani hai yaar! It’s a fantastic film. It’s unbelievable. It’s very unique, pata nahi kaise ban gayi, jo spirit catch kiya hai who logic se nahi ata hai. Jo bhi issne [Nagraj Manjule] kiya hai uska end result kya hai ki main ek spirit ke saath uthta hoon aur ye film mereko chod nahi sakti.”

    He added, “I don’t have words because it is such a surprising film. Jitne hum log ne jo 20-30 saal mein sikha hai, uska football bana diya hai.” Praising Amitabh Bachchan Aamir further said,, “Bachchan shab ne kya kaam kiya hai … aur Bachchan sahib ne ek se ek film ki hain aapne career mein, he’s done great film but this is one of his best films … one of his greatest films.”

    Jhund is based on the story of Nagpur based sports coach Vijay Basre who introduced a concept of slum soccer in the country to tap into the potential of underprivileged kids and giving their life a direction. Aamir also met the Amitabh’s soccer team from the film post the screening and heaped praises on the lot for a job well done. He also invited the cast home and can be seen introducing his son Azad Rao to them.

    Jhund arrives in cinemas on March 4.
